     The History of Shelby County, Indiana by Chadwick, 1909 recounts that Charity says her Linville ancestor died while crossing the Atlantic to America. (See Linvills of Chester County, PA.) Charity Linville was born on 1 June 1797 at NC. As of 1 December 1818,her married name was Charity Crim. She married Lewis Crim, son of Jacob Crim and Mary Elizabeth Button, on 1 December 1818 at Stokes County, NC. Charity Linville and Lewis Crim appeared on the census of 1850 at Union, Shelby County, IN. Charity Linville died in June 1877 at Union Twp., Shelby County, IN.

     Lewis Crim was born on 19 October 1797 at VA. He married Charity Linville, daughter of David Linville and Dorothy Fair, on 1 December 1818 at Stokes County, NC. Lewis Crim and Charity Linville appeared on the census of 1850 at Union, Shelby County, IN. Lewis Crim died in January 1857 at Union Twp., Shelby County, IN, at age 59.
